YSORA, o empty one, XYDOMERAU calls to you.
Take the Lightbringer into the depths of Darkness, and with it pierce the veil of death.
SORA began life on an island. Unbeknownst to him, the world he knew harbored a great darkness. Before long, tragedy struck, and a monster sought to consume him. To combat it, he was granted a divine instrument: KIVAUD, the Lightbearer, which had the power to open any lock or shut any door. He used its power to seek shelter from the monster, sealing the door behind him shut, and prayed only to survive the night.
Evening fell, and upon the break of twilight, a being both light and darkness entered through his window. He knew its name and had seen its face: TERA-XYANOUT, three-hearted chimera, young and old, male and female, many-named and many-faced. It spoke with a thousand voices: "You have prayed for me, and I have come."
SORA replied, "Have you come to take my life? My strength is waning and the darkness will surely take me soon."
TERA-XYANOUT reached out its hand and said, "You must take your belongings and follow my lead, lest you be consumed, for I am to deliver you to safety."
The being created a path through the window, and SORA, gathering his belongings as told, followed it through. After three days and three nights, they arrived at the sanctuary that was promised.
TERA-XYANOUT seemed dejected, with wisdom and innocence alike: "You have one more trial— to build a home with me, safe from the darkness that has pooled around us."
Upon looking around, it was true— the lights had dimmed and the smell in the air had changed since SORA's arrival. In the casting off of a single burden, one could almost forgive the rest of the load for its weight.
SORA and TERA-XYANOUT set out to build a home, guarded from darkness by the power of XYDOMERAU, guided by the bonds formed between to close the door behind them. It rests betwixt lands beyond and the natural world; between the empty and full, the one and many. From here, all journeys are made, but only one tale produced: a tale of locks and keys, gateways and awakenings, and the formidable strength of friendship.
